DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern bounced back in the final two games of its series versus Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader by taking game one 5-4 and game two 8-0 to win the weekend series at the Southeastern Softball Field.

The sweep lifts the Savage Storm to 9-9 overall on the year and 3-3 in Great American Conference play.

In Saturday's opener, Reese Taylor got the start in the circle and picked up the win after tossing a complete game, allowing four runs, three earned, on seven hits with eight strikeouts.

Kady Fryrear, Abby Beck, and Channing Sarver each collected a pair of hits, while Gracie Ore and Taylor added one each.

Fryrear and Sarver would also drive in two runs apiece, with Beck plating one.

SWOSU would strike first with a run in the top of the first, but a Sarver RBI single would sore Ore to knot the game at 1-1.

Sarver would strike again in the third with an RBI double to push the lead to 2-1.

The Bulldogs would answer and tie the game in the top of the fourth with a run, but again SE had an answer with RBI hits from Fryrear and Beck to take a 4-3 lead.

SWOSU would one final time tie the game in the fifth, and for one final time the Storm would answer as Fryrear singled home Kristin Rodriguez for what would be the game winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

In the finale, Emily Simmons got the start and tossed a complete game shutout, allowing two hits and striking out four in the run-rule victory.

Sage Harlow and Fryrear each had two hits, while Ore, Sabetha Sands, and Kennedy Morgan each added one hit.

Ore and Morgan would drive in a pair of runs each, while Harlow, Simmons, and Sarver each added an RBI.

The Storm exploded in the first inning, scoring all of its runs in the bottom half of the frame beginning with a bases-loaded walk by Simmons.

Sarver followed a batter later with a bases-loaded walk to take a 2-0 lead.

Sands would follow with an RBI single, while Morgan would drive in two on her single, followed by a two-run single by Ore for a 7-0 lead.

Harlow would end the scoring with an RBI double to push the lead to 8-0 which is where it would stay for the remainder of the contest.
