Scotty T confirms he's taking a Geordie Shore break (2024)

Scotty T has admitted that he is taking a "break" from Geordie Shore - but dismissed rumours that the producers have warned him that his partying is getting out of control.

Speaking to Digital Spy after the release of his autobiography A Shore Thing, Scotty cleared up the reports that he won't be joining the rest of the Geordie Shore cast for the start of filming on the new series.

"The thing is, I might be taking a break," he said. "Whenever I go on Geordie Shore, I go too wild - I just need to calm down. And obviously the filming dates clash with [my] pantomime [in Leeds], so that could be a big thing."

But Scotty told us that those rumours producers had told him off were "sh*te", saying: "There's a lot of things in the media that aren't true these days. But it's people talking about me. At the end of the day, if it was true, would I still be here? Would I still be doing the show? Exactly."

You could be forgiven if you thought the rumours were true given that Scotty admits in his book that he was told off by producers for getting a bit carried away, bedroom-wise.

"That was only in series five because I was a newbie on Geordie Shore and I literally went berserk and I was waving me willy in some girl's face in the jacuzzi," he joked. "That was just ridiculous."

In fact, Scotty told us that he would "never leave" the show but added: "There are going to be a lot of differences the next time I go and film though - it will be a lot calmer. Because they literally feed you with drink every night and you're knackered."

And Scotty admitted that he has seriously considered cutting back on his partying lifestyle in the past, explaining: "I'm a lot calmer than I was last year. Last year I was proper bad. Now I seem to mix my work with my leisure as well, most of the time. Last year it was just ridiculous - I was uncontrollable.

"It's mad because I do a lot of personal appearances, and they're like your bread and butter - you make a lot of money off them. And your popularity in the show dictates how many PAs you get - without sounding big-headed, I get a lot of PAs! I do day to day things and my other sh*t, but I've got to go to clubs for two hours and take a few photos and then you make that money.

"But then it starts becoming every night and then when you get to the PA if you're tired you're like, 'F**king hell, I'm just going to have a drink', and before you know it, it's four or five o'clock in the morning. It's exhausting but it's what makes you money, at the end of the day."

Scotty also revealed that he's become more professional recently as he feels like he owes it to the people around him.

"I used to have a bit of an attitude where I was like, 'Oh, I'm not doing this, I'm not doing that'," he said. "But now even when I feel ill and terrible, I think to myself, 'They've put a lot of time and effort into things for me and I'm not going to waste anyone's time'. Whereas a year ago I would be like, 'Nah, not doing it, don't care if you've travelled from Brazil to see me'. It's a start!"
