Jessica Jones actress Krysten Ritter looks at the possibility of another run in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after her Netflix show came to an end. 2024 came with a surprise for the MCU timeline when it came to Netflix's Marvel TV shows, as the street-level heroes that set up The Defenders saga in the franchise have now formally become canon to the larger universe. While Charlie Cox's Daredevil and Jon Bernthal's Punisher will be back in 2025, there are still other Marvel-Netflix heroes whose futures are currently unclear.

ScreenRant's Joe Deckelmeier recently caught up with Ritter during the promotion of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, where the MCU alum was asked about a potential return to the superhero franchise as the Marvel-Netflix shows have made it into the Sacred Timeline canon. While there may not be anything set in stone yet for the Jessica Jones star, Ritter stressed that she would be thrilled to revisit the Marvel heroine, sharing the following:
Krysten Ritter: There's nothing I can really say there, but I love her. It'd be such a dream to play that character again.

There are two ways to look at Ritter's latest Jessica Jones comments, especially given how the Marvel-Netflix shows fit into the MCU timeline after all these years. While they may not have announced any plans for the foreseeable future, the more recent decisions about this side of the franchise make it clear that there's at least a promising chance of heroes other than Charlie Cox's Daredevil returning to the fray. Otherwise, they would have recast the other Marvel-Netflix actors, which hasn't happened, especially when looking at Daredevil: Born Again as a primary example.
It's also key to remember that MCU actors are sometimes asked in interviews about future appearances or involvements but aren't able to reveal anything to the public, especially when it comes to a surprise return for their character. It's only when Marvel Studios have made it official that they can actually speak about being part of an MCU movie or TV show, which could easily be what Ritter is forced to do in this instance. With Ritter wanting to be back Jessica Jones in the MCU, it seems likely she will reprise the role down the line, although the specifics regarding how and when can't be known at this time.

With Ritter's latest update on being game to come back as the beloved Marvel superhero, it would be incredible if her first MCU appearance would be somewhere in Daredevil: Born Again, regardless if it is in season 1 or 2, with the latter already confirmed to happen on Disney+. That would be a proper way to give her a soft re-introduction after the events of Jessica Jones season 3, while also leaning into the ties she has with Matt Murdock. But until her return happens, fans can always relive Jessica Jones and Ritter's other MCU appearances across The Defenders series on Disney+.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is set to open in theaters Friday, December 20.
